Terms and listing rules
Last updated October 17, 2026
By using seacanforsale.ca you agree to these terms. If you post a listing, the listing rules below apply too.
What we are
Sea Can For Sale is a listing marketplace. We are not the buyer or seller of anything listed, we do not inspect containers or verify grades, and we are not a party to any sale or rental. Buyers and sellers deal with each other directly and are responsible for their own due diligence.
Listing rules
- You must own what you list, or be authorised to sell it.
- Listings must be for shipping containers (sea cans) for sale or rent, modified containers, or closely related equipment such as container shelving and ramps.
- Describe it honestly: condition, dents, rust, floor damage, and what is included.
- Photos must be of the actual item. No stock photos for used equipment.
- No contact details, links or payment requests in the description: buyers reach you through the message form.
- One listing per container, or per batch of the same size and grade. Don't repost the same thing to stay at the top.
- Describe the grade honestly. A container listed as cargo-worthy or wind and watertight must be.
Fees, renewals and refunds
- Listing fees are shown before you pay and are charged once per listing period. Prices are in Canadian dollars, plus applicable taxes.
- A listing goes live when payment clears and stays live for the period shown. We email you before it expires.
- Renewing adds a full period on top of any time left. Featured placement works the same way.
- We review listings after they go live. If we remove a listing for breaking these rules, we refund its fee automatically.
- If you withdraw a listing yourself, or it sells early, the fee is not refunded.
- Unpaid draft listings are deleted after about a week.
Messages between buyers and sellers
Buyer messages are forwarded to the seller by email with the buyer's address as the reply-to. Use them only to discuss the listing. Spam, harassment or scam attempts will get an account closed.
Staying safe
Inspect the container or get the grade in writing, check the CSC plate and door seals, and never send a deposit to someone you have not met or a business you cannot verify. Report suspicious listings through our contact page.
Our responsibility
The site is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from listings, transactions between users, or the site being unavailable, and our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the previous twelve months.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Questions: hello@seacanforsale.ca.
